BECK DESIGN is an office for design of furniture and artifacts. From the first idea sketch throughout the whole working and developing process we go along with the artifacts all the way to their series-production readiness. The main focus of our work lies in the continuous and intensive cooperation with the developing teams of our furniture manufacturers. With technical competence, the passion for design and a lot of empathy we develop innovative artifacts.
We attach great importance on a comprehensive evolution of our design. Therefore model building is the most important element in our working process. Hereby we test functions, check proportions and we illustrate convincingly the conceptual design. In our artist’s workshops we are perfectly equipped: from the buzz saw, the varnish room to the sewing machine, here we can set free our enthusiasm.
The result of the intens preoccupation with the portfolio of our clients and the dedicated and longlasting cooperation with the development teams is a list of international clients. In the early years this were beds, cabinet furniture, tables and chairs for example for seetalswiss and Hülsta. Nowadays we work for prestigious brands like Rolf Benz, freistil, Leolux, Pode and ruf-Betten.
Norbert Beck

Norbert Beck, born in 1959, originally worked as an arts and crafts teacher before he founded his own design studio in 1988 and since then worked as an self-employed furniture designer.

Silja Beck, born in 1967, originally she was educated as an interior decorator and an upholsterer and studied architecture. Since 2013 she works for BECK DESIGN.

Work and private life are closely linked with us. We try to engage for our ideals regarding to sustainability and responsible dealing of our environment in all areas of life. For this reason, we are member companie of the economy for the common good, an economic model that builds on values that promote common welfare. We generate our annual electricity demand for our office, studio, electric car and household with our own solar system.
